Hola everyone!
~I can't believe that I'm leaving for Chile...TOMORROW! Holy cow! Where has the time gone? I'm at the hotel right now with Mom and Dad. Let's just say, I have the BEST parents in the world! They are amazing. I'm so thankful for everything they have done for me, including, supporting my dreams. Thanks, Mom and Dad! I will miss them a lot! I will also miss all of my family and friends (most of you reading this)!
~I was lucky enough to hang out with some of my favorite people this past week. Thank you for all of the wonderful memories everybody! It was great to see you and spend time with you! And if I didn't get to see you, I will be sure to see you as soon as I can when I get back to the USA :)
~As for now, enjoy the pictures from my past week!
~I was able to walk around FC with my Kaylas :) It was so good to see them! We went to Scoopy Doo's, and I thought I lost my wallet. Luckily it was at home! Just a little scare, knowing that I will be leaving soon :)
~This is my Grandma Wencl :) She is an amazing lady! I was able to visit her and my aunt Chris and uncle Brian as well. She's going to try and keep up with my blog! If you see this, Grandma, I'm VERY proud of you to try and tackle the computer :)
~These people are the BEST people in the whole wide world. My parents! I LOVE them! They've helped me A LOT with getting ready for Chile. Thanks for EVERYTHING, Mom and Dad :)
~This is my Grandma and Grandpa Vaith :) I had a great time fishing, taking a motorcycle ride, and eating Grandma's potato salad (it's THE best). Thanks for a great weekend guys!
~And this...well this is one of the prettiest Minnesota sunsets I've seen in a while, and I thought it was pretty enough to share :) Enjoy!
~I also want to thank Kenny, Sam-I-Am, Justin, Brian, Chris, Deb, and Dave for spending time with me before Chile :)
~That's all for now. The Chilean adventure will officially begin tomorrow, and I'm extremely excited to share it with you! I hope the nerves will go away soon ;) Take care everyone. Love you all!
Adios :)
Here I go! I'm heading to Chile this summer to study abroad. I would love it if you would follow along, and experience Chile for yourselves via my blog. I will keep it updated while I'm there, and it will be a way to keep in contact with me. Please, feel free to comment on what I write, and I will try to write back as soon as possible. Hasta la vista :)

Getting Ready to Go :)
~Hello everyone! I am starting to pack up and get ready for another amazing opportunity: studying abroad in Arica, Chile at La Universidad de Tarapacá (University of Tarapacá)! I can't believe that the time is almost here! Ten days from now, I will begin my travels with fourteen other UNI students and our coordinator, Kim, who has done the program before :)
*I begin my travels on June 1st.
*I return home on August 3rd.
*I will be living in Arica, Chile, which is the Red A balloon on the maps you see. It is a border town, so it is extremely close to Peru. Actually, it used to be a part of Peru.
~I will be living with my Chilean "mom," Ligia, and another UNI student named Rachel. I'm SO excited to get to know both of them :) I will be taking three classes there,
so I will get 9 credits while in Arica! There is also a travel week (I think it's the first week in July); we're able to travel either in Peru, Bolivia, or southern Chile. I think I will most likely travel to one of the Seven Wonders of the World, Machu Picchu in Peru. If you don't know what Machu Picchu is, you should definitely Google it :)
~I think that is almost all of the information about my trip. If I left out anything, if you have any questions about the trip, or if you just want to comment-feel free to do so :) Mostly, I just wanted to make sure my blog was up and running. I will talk to you soon, and I love you all so much! Adios :) Katie~
